Formed in 1918, Micheldever WI is one of the Village’s longest running groups.
Meetings are held at the Northbrook, Hall, Duke Street, Micheldever on the second Thursday of each month (with the exception of August) and start at 7. 30 pm.
There is usually a guest speaker and far from being ‘Jam and Jerusalem’ , the subjects can range from making contemporary jewellery to the history of Winchester’s Theatre Royal.
We have active Quiz and Skittles teams who take part in Hampshire area competitions and sometimes our members become ‘ladies who lunch’ and visit a local pub or carvery for lunchtime refreshment.
As well as our local meetings, there are opportunities to visit other branches and to also attend Group and Hampshire Federation Meetings to listen to well known national speakers such as Ann Widdecombe, Jennie Bond (ex Royal Correspondent) and author Jack Sheffield.
The WI’s educational centre is Denman College situated at Marcham near Oxford which offers full and varied programme of courses. Local courses covering many skills are also held at W. I. House, Hyde Abbey Road, Winchester.
New members are always welcome so why not come along as a guest to one of our meetings? Details of the meetings are placed on the Parish notice boards at the Village Shop and Northbrook Hall approximately 2 weeks prior to the date. Should you then decide to join us, the current annual membership fee is £33.00.
